Markit: Russia’s Manufacturing PMI rises to 51.1 in September
MOSCOW, Oct 3 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Manufacturing purchasing managers’ index (PMI) increased to 51.1 in September from 50.8 in August, researcher Markit said in a statement seen by PRIME on Monday.
“In comparison to recent times, September was a strong month for Russia’s manufacturers as output grew at the sharpest rate for 22 months and new orders also expanded at a solid pace. However, the latest increase in production was fractionally weaker than the historical average, indicating that the sector is still far from performing at maximum capacity,” Samuel Agass, a Markit economist, said as cited in the statement.
The index stood above a 50 no-change mark which means an overall growth of the manufacturing sector in the reported period.
